cross

Qi Gong

The course and direction of the 12 meridians, forms a cross

The cross reflects the seasons from the depth of winter to the height of summer, the opening of spring and the closing of autumn.

In the same holographic principle, the  12 organs with their corresponding meridians are a reflection of heaven and Earth on the human body.

Heaven: 12 zodiac signs.

Earth: 12 rivers

Body: 12 meridians, heavenly streams.

The 12 meridians are couples of yin: storage organs and yang: transforming organs.

The heart is where all inner body, yin meridians connect

The 3 yin meridians begin around the big toe and run on the inside of the legs and abdomen to the heart. From the heart they connect to the 3 yin of the arms, flowing outwards on the inside of the arms to the fingertips, so that the arms move outwards and upwards.

At the highest point, the summer, we are a line between heaven and Earth.

The eyes is where all outer yang meridians connect

Sunlight enters the 3 yang meridians of the arms at the fingertips and flows downwards on the outside of the arms, where it enters the eyes. There they connect with the 3 yang meridians of the leg and flow towards the Earth, on the outside and back of the body.

The 3 centers, head, heart and belly, connect thoughts, emotions and sensations.

All 3 are formed by very sensitive nerve tissue, able to accommodate consciousness, presence, embodiment and intuition.

The head is where sensory information forms cognitive processes like memory, planning, abstract thinking, and imagination.

The heart is the seat of consciousness which connects all sensory information to recognize, connect, respond in a intuitive way.

The center of gravity in our body, is also the embodiment, sensing and storage center. In front of the uterus and surrounded by the small intestine: the yang, transformative aspect of the heart, is the belly brain.

Tai Chi and qi gong follow the movement of the breath with the meridians.

Breath naturally follows the course and direction of the meridians, ascending and descending, opening and closing.

Start by breathing into the belly from the foot chacra, kidney 1. Touching your big toe, and feeling the depth of the rooting under your feet. Breathe in the terrestrial energy through the 3 yin meridians on the inside of the leg, to your heart. There they connect with the 3 yin of the arm,  moving the arms outwards and upwards.

At the highest point, the summer position, you are a line between heaven and Earth.

The yang-Sun energy flows through the 3 yang meridians on the outside of the arms to the eyes, ears and nose. There they connect with the 3 leg meridians and flow towards the Earth, on the outside and back of the body.

After a while you let your arms move and follow your heart. Your heart makes your arms move: lifting with inhalation, and dropping with exhalation, as a bird flight.

Begin to lessen the outward movement, while you intensify the internal movement. Your belly has a powerful breathing pump that goes on its own once it is activated.

The healing power of embryonic breathing

It is called embryonic breathing, and is very healing.

Babies, cats meditators and athletes breathe this way. It is the same peristaltic movement which regulates all systems as heartbeat, circulation, respiration and digestion.

3 foot yin kidney, liver and spleen, connect to 3 arm yin, pericardium, lung and heart.

3 arm yang, 3 heater, colon and small intestine, connect to 3 foot yang, gall bladder, stomach and bladder
